Most Comfortable Street Wheel. Period.
See how the ALL the popular wheels react to bad streets.
Highest Grip of ALL Street Wheels.
Minimal Impact on Range.
In this range test, the Hollow Wheel consumes only 2% more battery life than the stock Boosted Board Wheels.
1) Reduce rolling resistance when cruising straight.
2) Massive grip and turn-in response in a corner.
When you're going straight, you have a smaller contact patch and you're riding on the solid part of the wheel. So it mimics a road bike. Small contact area and low rolling resistance. However, when you start carving, you unlock more grip because the wheel folds over and exposes more contact patch (65mm).
What is an "Adjustable Suspension"?
You can customize your ride to exactly how you want it. Do you like more comfort? How about more top speed? Want to coast longer? How about more grip?
The Hollow Wheel provides a fully adjustable suspension in the form of different inserts that can be inserted into the hollow wheel to adjust the stiffness, weight of the wheel, rolling resistance, and even the diameter.
Heavier the inserts will increase coasting while steadily decreasing comfort. The lighter insert will improve comfort, but reduce coasting distance. This depends heavily on the rider weight and riding preference. Having the insert inside the wheel will improve grip by increasing stiffness.
- Includes Hard (70A)
- One unit purchase comes with 4 inserts
- Comes with metal to fill 4 inserts (to adjust weight)
- Comes in Red Color
Lightest Wheel In Class.
The Hollow Wheel weighs 284g whereas the competition comes in at 568g per wheel.
"Most Comfortable Street Wheel"
Watch this video. You won't regret it. How does it compare against Cloud 120D, ABEC 107, and TB110s, and more?? It will be worth your time... and it is entertaining too.
"One of best wheels I have ever ridden"
"I’ve been testing these. Pretty f***ing amazing."
-Kevin Graehl, who is a DIY eSk8 madman with boards that do 40+mph. Very smart and honest person that knows what he likes.
"They handle as good as 110s on bumps but way softer ride and lighter weight. If you’re using 110s or 120s for bumps, these will chew em up"
- Vincent Diaz, founder of Verreal Board Owners
"Pretty solid compared to any other 105's or 110's I've ridden. Definitely will say the feeling of them is like NOTHING ELSE."
Anthony Vogt, 6 years of Boosted Board Riding Experience
Review from Andy Z. early customer of the Hollow Wheel with his Boosted Mini S. He loves how it transformed his board, making it safer yet faster. He has the Boosted 105 and the Hollow Wheels and prefers the Hollow Wheel.
I wanted a wheel that had the comfort of a big wheel, but none of the draw backs (worst grip, more weight, worst acceleration, worst braking, etc.).
Frequently Asked Questions:
Question: Why did you decided on size of 105mm? Do you think that making them the size of cloudwheels 120mm would have any reasonable benefits?
Short answer: Lots and lots of testing and iterations. Longer answer: I made wheels of all shapes and sizes. I made a lot of wheels and held variables constant. For instance, I made wheels from 90mm to 116 and held weight constant, then assessed comfort, grip, acceleration, etc. just so I could see the sensitivities that each variable played. Through testing, I found that 105 was the best balance of weight, stiffness, grip, acceleration, and braking. Once I was finished with the design of experiment, I started to converge on the weight and size.
I am in development of a 125mm because people just keep asking for that. It will be more comfortable, but it won’t grip as well and the range won’t be as good. It is also a lot tricker at that diameter to make a hollow version.
Risks and Challenges
We have already invested in the tooling and we are always constantly doing material changes. We do have some more work on the final urethane and we are working closely with the manufacturer. We want to put 4,000 miles of crazy hard abuse on the wheels before shipping.
